HOW TO DISPOSE OF YOUR EMOTIONAL BAGGAGE 🚮

Emotional baggage is a metaphor that refers to your negative, unprocessed emotions from past experiences.

Unprocessed emotions can show up as some of the following:
GUILT // REGRET // FEAR // INNER-CRITICISM // SELF-COMPARISON // FREQUENT BAD MOODS

To tidy yourself up, sporadically practice the steps below.

STEP ONE. CULTIVATE A DESIRE TO HEAL
You first have to genuinely want to feel better and free yourself from your own inner turmoil. Once you make the decision to take accountability for yourself and your emotions, nobody and nothing can stop you. Honestly think about what it would feel like to leave your emotional baggage behind for good. What would your relationship with yourself + others look like? Start to imagine what those would feel like and then reflect on it all to help harness your desire for change.

STEP TWO. WRITE DOWN YOUR TRIGGERS
Write down everything that makes you unhappy, sad, or angry. Look for the patterns, make connections, feel your emotions, and conciously release these feelings from your body. A lot of what imprisons us are the stories we tell ourselves. Shift your narrative, and change your perspective. Perception is reality. Practice compassion with yourself, but keep it real with yourself too. Get up off the floor. If you’re alive, you have options. Develop a deep relationship with tenacity and determination to get to the root of matters.

STEP THREE. PRACTICE FORGIVENESS
In order to forgive, we must accept and release the past. Like we said, practicing compassion is vital while forgiving yourself and others that have caused you pain.

STEP FOUR. REFLECT ON THE LESSONS YOU’VE LEARNED
Reflect on past experiences, even the negative ones, and think about what lessons you learned from them. Practice seeing the positive aspects of the negative experiences to assist you with moving on.

STEF FIVE. STOP ENGAGING IN THE SAME BEHAVIORS THAT BREED THE SAME RESULTS
To end a pattern, first identify the pattern. Say no to garbage.

***Please also remember that healing does not happen quickly. It is an eternal process that gets easier with time, focused intention, and consistency. Healing is not linear. It is an organic process that if viewed as a physical shape would resemble an infinitely ascending spiral. It’s cyclical. Be nice to yourself + others.

Shit can be tough.

ENJOY THE JOURNEY

QUESTION EVERYTHING.

FOREVER.

that’s all. that’s the answer.

The importance of the knowledge of self is one of the many secrets of this world — and arguably the best kept one. That needs shaken up though. Stop letting people tell you who you are. Go find out who you are, and then find out more. Work towards excellence every single day. To be honest, you can’t escape yourself, even if you wanted to. Might as well learn as much as you can about why you do what you do, what you believe, want, need, and fear… but most importantly, how you can juice the most out of life...whatever that means to you. It’s probably in all of our best interests for you to become infinitely reliable and wholly self-sufficient. If each of us shows up every day as our best, we all win. None of this is always easy, but at some point it does become worth it. Suffice to say, deeply knowing yourself is a ridiculously good tool in this muck of a world — and risking redundancy — but it must be firmly stated, become an ideal companion to yourself, and you’ll naturally become one to everyone around you.

💸 BE THE ASSET NOT THE LIABILITY 💸

Please note:

  • Sometimes this journey is fun, sometimes it utterly sucks.

  • Always keep it a stack.

  • Keep your self, thoughts, and actions rooted in love💖. That’s the game changer.

  • Don’t be afraid to burn the bitch down.

  • There aren’t any rules so just do what you feel.

  • If the crowd is going right, deeply consider veering left.

  • If you do not stay humble, you will be humbled.

  • Remember, no matter how much we experience, learn, or know, we must not get caught in the trap of superiority. Everyone has something to teach us as we have something to teach others.

WE BELIEVE IN

KNOWLEDGE OF SELF.
